Because of these failings, it became apparent for people to find a more appropriate material that will be able to resist damage from exposure to cold while providing warmth and comfort for the skier. As such, today’s women’s ski pants are made from materials that are lighter than animal hide although more durable without sacrificing warmth and comfort.

Features of Modern Ski Pants

The following are some of the common features of modern women’s ski pants:

? A side zipper. The side zip closure makes it easy to change pants. Unlike conventional pants, the side zip is purposely made so that one can easily adjust her boots without having to lift her pants.

? Removable suspenders. Suspenders act in the same principle that belts are made for: ensuring that the pants remain in place despite repetitive movements. By suspending the pants from one’s shoulders, one is certain that her pants will not get loose while skiing. In other pants, suspenders are replaced by double loop belts.

? Cargo pockets are the norm in today’s women’s ski pants because these additional pockets allow skiers to store some belongings into their pockets. One can stuff her gloves into any of the pockets, making them easy to reach.

? Insulated material for warmth and comfort. Getting warm in a cold environment is a challenge for all skiers. As such, wearing ski pants that are insulated on the interior or made from materials to keep the cold at bay is a welcome relief. In the same manner that ski pants are insulated, some are also provided with vents so as to provide a better circulation of air. This way, any skier will truly feel fresh outdoors.
